Title:
  problems with kernel 4.13

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
I have a laptop call dc pro. it is made in china. processor is
  Intel(R) Pentium(R) CPU G4560 @ 3.50GHz. with nvidia gtx 1050. The
  problems are:

1 the ubuntu 16.04.03 installation will hang somewhere. luckily
  16.04.02 will go through.

2 the system will not boot after upgrade to kernel 4.13. the old
kernel 4.8 will boot without problem.

3 After install the cuda 9.1 both kernel will boot, but nvidia did not
come into play(lsmod shows no nv, no nvidia-smi command, only 3 nvidia
  commands left "nvidia-detector nvidia-modprobe nvidia-settings" )
for the kernel 4.13, the old kernel 4.8 is ok though
