You have been subscribed to a public bug: After finishing the installation from the daily-build s390 ISO images, no network interface was found enabled/active. The "ip addr" command only showed the loopback device.
The configured network device was an OSA adapter, the problem occured when installing as a z/VM 6.4 guest or on a LPAR. ISO images from the daily builds from 19. through 22. March 2018 were tried with the same result. When investigating the problem further, I found that no udev rule was present in the /etc/udev/rules.d directory for the OSA adapter (no 41-qeth* file). Putting an appropriate rules file into that directory fixed the problem, that is: the system had an active network interface after reIPL. Installation logs/information from the /var/log/installer directory are attached. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Assignee: Skipper Bug Screeners (skipper-screen-team) Status: New ** Tags: architecture-s39064 bugnameltc-165937 severity-high targetmilestone-inin--- -- [Ubuntu 18.04] No active network interface after installation https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1757995 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages Post to : kernel-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
