This bug is awaiting verification that the kernel in -proposed solves the problem. Please test the kernel and update this bug with the results. If the problem is solved, change the tag 'verification-needed- zesty' to 'verification-done-zesty'. If the problem still exists, change the tag 'verification-needed-zesty' to 'verification-failed-zesty'.
If verification is not done by 5 working days from today, this fix will be dropped from the source code, and this bug will be closed. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to enable and use -proposed. This can cause problems booting on some systems. Fix: Change the option back to y. Regression Potential: Minimal, as this only switches a driver from being a module to being built-in, and the driver will only be used if the device appears in a platform's device tree. --- Sometime between trusty and xenial, CONFIG_SATA_HIGHBANK was changed from y to m. I believe the change was in utopic, but it's hard to tell. This makes booting on Calxeda Highbank systems pretty difficult since you can't get to the root filesystem on a SATA disk unless you were smart enough to have initramfs-tools include the sata_highbank module. On a clean install, you'd need to know to drop out of the installer, and rebuild the initramfs appropriately. Any chance that could be changed back to y for armhf?
