Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Expired Bug description: I'm running Zesty 17.04 linux-image.4.10.0.13 I can log in but compiz has to be --replaced. Then I update-grub. kernel .14 downloads yesterday and .19 today. Both don't have a initrd.img-4.10.0-1[49]-generic. Most would stop here. In grub.cfg I tried adding a initrd /initrd.img with is linked to /boot/initrd.img-4.10.0-13-generic to both linux vmlinuz-4.10.0-14-generic and linux vmlinuz-4.10.0-19-generic What does it mean when it boots until a kernel panic "can't find root." This also happens if there is no initrd line (as intended.) ubuntu-bug linux reports "not a real package. please remove third party packs" $cat /proc/version_signature |tee version.log Ubuntu 4.10.0-13.15-generic 4.10.1 #install new crash kernels: zesty echo deb http://ddebs.ubuntu.com/ $(lsb_release -cs)-updates \ main restricted universe multiverse > /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ddebs.list $ sudo apt-get install linux-image-$(uname -r)-dbgsym E: Unable to locate package linux-image-4.10.0-13-generic-dbgsym E: Unable to locate package linux-image-4.10.0-14-generic-dbgsym E: Unable to locate package linux-image-4.10.0-19-generic-dbgsym oh well.
