Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream stable kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v4.10 stable kernel[0].
If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'. If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'. If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot, please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'. Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed". Thanks in advance. [0] http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v4.10.17/ ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => High ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1693647 Title: Ubuntu just stops booting with recent kernels Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: I happened after kernel 4.10.0-19 or 4.10.0-20 With 4.10.0-19 it boots perfectly always. With older (and 4.10.0-21) it is booting... and just stops doing that. Nothing, no errors, no nothing. It leaves the screen the way it was(it may be some booting logs, or just black screen). But. If you load system with 4.10.0-19, than right after that you will probably be able to do that with 4.10.0-21 too, but only 1 time. At this point I think that xanmod kernel has similar problems. Maybe the problem is because i have patch every kernel with https://github.com/neurobin/MT7630E/ in order to make wifi+bluetooth work.
