Public bug reported:

I have a laptop with Haswell processor which has a hardware random number
generator. I confirmed that with the command 'grep rdrand /proc/cpuinfo'.
The problem is when I try to load the 'intel-rng' kernel module to use the
device with rngd daemon, it says 'no such device'. I'm not a great Linux
expert, but the problem seems the PCI IDs for my computer's chipset isn't on
module, so become impossible to detect the device. I tried the same with
4.10rc7 kernel from PPA and the problem continues. I'm having a problem how to
which PCI device contains RNG support and how create a new modalias to bypass
the detection. If I could do that, I could report exactly what is the PCI IDs
to correct the RNG detection.
