Bug description:
Since upgrading from ubuntu 10.04 to ubuntu 12.04 the eject command
sometimes fails to eject the drive:
michael@quad:~/download$ eject
eject: unable to eject, last error: Inappropriate ioctl for device
This happens when there is no medium in the drive.
Expected behaviour would be to open the drive so that a medium can be
inserted.
Sometimes this also happens with a medium in the drive.
In this case pressing "Eject" at the drive ejects the medium, thus the medium
in the drive was not locked.
dmesg does not show any errors when eject failed.
