This bug appears to have been resolved for me at least with kernel v3.8.0-31.
Battery is now showing 100% when fully charged. Kind regards and thanks Christopher ** Tags added: kernel-fixed-v3.8.0-31 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1215590 Title: BIOS update 219 (from 215) for Asus UX31A led to battery % error Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Following a BIOS update from 215 to 219 for my Asus UX31A, battery % now reports as being on 84% when it should read 100% (as it does in Windows 8). This value will remain permanently on 84% and will never reach 100% when plugged into the mains. The little light on the power cable lights up as green colour suggesting battery is at fully charged, thus confirming there is some kind of miscommunication between my hardware and xubuntu/kernel. This could be an Asus BIOS fault rather than a bug. Either way, I'd appreciate a fix. Prior to this BIOS update, my battery reached 100%. I'm using XUBUNTU 13.04 (upgraded from 12.10) (An additional issue is that the fan also seems a little more active than it was before the update, but this may perhaps need to be put into a seperate bug report.)
