They work if I plug them into a USB2 port. Also, USB2 devices work if plugged into a USB3 port. I have read other descriptions of similar phenomena, but typically, USB3 does not work initially, but it is fixed by enabling the IOMMU setting in the BIOS. Unless I'm missing it, I don't seem to have such a setting. I do have "xhci handoff", and I have enabled that. I have asked a question about this matter on AskUbuntu, but after two weeks, there has been no activity. https://askubuntu.com/questions/815416/usb3-devices-not-working-when-plugged-into-usb3-port --- ApportVersion: 2.20.1-0ubuntu2.1 Architecture: amd64 AudioDevicesInUse: USER PID ACCESS COMMAND /dev/snd/controlC2: hubcraft 3708 F.... pulseaudio /dev/snd/controlC0: hubcraft 3708 F.... pulseaudio /dev/snd/controlC1: hubcraft 3708 F.... pulseaudio CurrentDesktop: Unity DistroRelease: Ubuntu 16.04 HibernationDevice: RESUME=UUID=dda6692b-2db8-4b19-93d3-841d0e1f65aa InstallationDate: Installed on 2016-08-21 (18 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS "Xenial Xerus" - Release amd64 (20160719) IwConfig: lo no wireless extensions. enp6s0 no wireless extensions.
