setting of the psl_fir_cntl can be accessed through
# cat /sys/kernel/debug/cxl/card0/fir_cntl

Fix is in powerpc maintainer's tree and will find its way in 4.8-rc2;

However, though simple, the upstream patch won't apply cleanly to the
Xenial tree due to other patches merged in 4.8. So I'm attaching a
version of the patch which applies on Xenial
