Title:
  sr0 error on boot screen

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Hello

I had performance relate disuses on fresh install of Linux Mint 18,
especially my computers were getting stuck during shut down. Few
forums suggested that upgrade to kernel 4.7 fixes some of the issues
so I though to give it a try.

Firs of all I tried to update my laptop and everything went well.
Performance also improved and slow shutdown and issues of freezing
during shut down also seems to haven't occurred atleast until now.

Later decided to upgrade the kernel on my main work computer as well.
Here again I see improvement in behaviour of my computer but problem
is I see some errors on the boot screen. I have also attached a screen
shot, please check. Never noticed this issue with previous versions of
Linux Mint or after upgrading kernel in the past.

Seemed like issue with CD/DVD drive. I took out the disk out of the
DVD drive and error screen seemed to be vanished. I inserted a blank
CD in the drive and error reappeared but number of error lines
reduced. I want to keep the disk in the drive which I always had in
  the past without any issue.

  Please look into the issue.

  Specifications of the computer:

  Linux Mint 18
  Kernel 4.7
  AMD 8350
  Asus M5A97
  24 GB RAM
  Nvidia 780ti
  Asus Xonar D2X soundcard
  WD Green 500GB HDD
  Asus DVD writer

  Thanks and regards
