Still using 4.7.0-994-generic. It again isn't freezing. And hasn't in several weeks. That's not to say that there is not still a problem there, but it's the best kernel i've tested so far (other than the old 3.16). I think i only had freeing problems when my CPU was hot and my fan was running high.
But if you can appeal to the intel programmers directly then by all means be my guest. I can't bisect this on my own, and others in those other bug reports have hinted that bisecting will do no good for this issue anyway since there is not enough information about what is actually causing it. Bad Intel code? Maybe. Seems a plausible explanation to me.
