@Zach (zach-bimson) Well this is how it happened and how i resolved the issue. Before installing i started 16.04 live usb, the wifi was not working so in live usb i enabled proprietary wifi drivers from "additional drivers" the wifi had no problem from there on out, so i decided to continue with the installation of ubuntu, I selected the options i wanted and pressed to download updates while installing.
After it installed the ubuntu and booted in ubuntu i could not install wifi proprietary drivers even though i have managed to do so just fine on live usb. So at the end of the day i had to plug lan cable in the laptop and run -f install it downloaded software and after that the wifi started to function. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to bcmwl in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1580659 Title: bcmwl-kernel-source (not installed): bcmwl kernel module failed to build [wlc_hybrid.o_shipped_x86_64: No such file or directory] Status in bcmwl package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: trying to iinstall drivers ProblemType: Package DistroRelease: Ubuntu 16.04 Package: bcmwl-kernel-source (not installed) ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.4.0-21.37-generic 4.4.6 Uname: Linux 4.4.0-21-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.1-0ubuntu2 Architecture: amd64 DKMSKernelVersion: 4.4.0-21-generic Date: Wed May 11 19:37:07 2016 InstallationDate: Installed on 2016-05-11 (0 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 16.04 LTS "Xenial Xerus" - Release amd64 (20160420.1) PackageVersion: (not installed) RelatedPackageVersions: dpkg 1.18.4ubuntu1 apt 1.2.10ubuntu1 SourcePackage: bcmwl Title: bcmwl-kernel-source (not installed): bcmwl kernel module failed to build UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bcmwl/+bug/1580659/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages Post to : kernel-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
