I have one update. I have exact the same situation with my Lenovo laptop.
Uname: 3.13.0-85-generic #129-Ubuntu SMP Thu Mar 17 20:50:15 UTC 2016 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux Above is explained that this issue is fixed in kernel 3.14.0. So, waiting or getting an upstream kerel is an solution. Alternatively I tried updating the BIOS and that works too for the USB problem. Download the BIOS flash utility from the Lenovo site. I flashed my BIOS from version V2.08 to version 9DCN34WW(V3.04) (9DCN34WW.exe) I had my laptop dual bootable so that I could still use Windows to execute the flash program. After flashing I had set grub back as the first bootloader but the USB problem was fixed. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1476783 Title: Lenovo B5970 USB peripherals are not detected Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Expired Bug description: Randomly (around twice any 3 reboot), Linux does not detect the USB peripherals of the laptop.
