Tried both swsusp and uswsusp. It hangs at snapshotting system stage. I can successfully hibernate the same computer in Xubuntu 14.04(kernel 3.13/16/19 and mainline 4.2.3), the only difference is the two OSes are installed on two different hard drives, 14.04 uses ext4 as / and 16.04 uses btrfs as /, if all that matters. Please let me know if I need to provide more info.
