I've already changed the SATA cables to better ones in line with suggestions I've seen elsewhere. Looks to me this problem has been around for at least seven years. Any assistance diagnosing the actual problem would be appreciated. GSmartcontrol says there is nothing wrong with any of the drives in this system. I'm running 15.04, also seen it in 14.10 and 14.04 on the same box. I can actually hear the drive resetting from time to time so I know there's something actually happening.
