Niklas Holm, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. As per https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/H87IPLUS/HelpDesk_Download/ an update to your computer's buggy and outdated BIOS is available (2003). If you update to this following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BIOSUpdate does it change anything?
If it doesn't, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of the following terminal command: sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date For more on BIOS updates and linux, please see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette . Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful. As well, you don't have to create a new bug report. Once the BIOS is updated, if the problem is still reproducible, and the information above is provided, then please mark this report Status Confirmed. Otherwise, please mark this as Invalid. Thank you for your understanding. ** Tags added: bios-outdated-2003 ** Attachment removed: "lspci-vnvn.log" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1508978/+attachment/4502464/+files/lspci-vnvn.log ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Low ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1508978 Title: Logitech Unifying Device not detected Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: So, My wireless Logitech keyboard with unified receiver is not working (again!) after installing the Vivid LTS Enablement Stack on Trusty, thus stepping up from kernel 3.13.0-65-generic to 3.19.0-31-generic. I got stuck at the LUKS-prompt, so I rebooted in text-mode (it works fine in the GRUB menu); when I removed the USB receiver and reinsert it, I get this output: [ 89.250799] usb 1-10: new full-speed USB device number 3 using xhci_hcd [ 89.380936] usb 1-10: New USB device found, idVendor=046d, idProduct=c52b [ 89.380957] usb 1-10: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=0 [ 89.380978] usb 1-10: Product: USB Receiver [ 89.380990] usb 1-10: Manufacturer: Logitech [ 89.385703] logitech-djreciever 0003:046D:C52B.0007: hiddev0,hidraw0: USB HID v1.11 Device [Logitech USB Reciever] on usb-0000:00:14.0-10/input2 And nothing. Keyboard doesn't work. After rebooting to 3.13, this is what I can see in dmesg: [ 1.464976] usb 3-10: new full-speed USB device number 2 using xhci_hcd [ 1.483387] usb 3-10: New USB device found, idVendor=046d, idProduct=c52b [ 1.483389] usb 3-10: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=0 [ 1.483390] usb 3-10: Product: USB Receiver [ 1.483391] usb 3-10: Manufacturer: Logitech [ 1.486128] hidraw: raw HID events driver (C) Jiri Kosina [ 1.490361] usbcore: registered new interface driver usbhid [ 1.490362] usbhid: USB HID core driver [ 1.492216] logitech-djreceiver 0003:046D:C52B.0003: hiddev0,hidraw0: USB HID v1.11 Device [Logitech USB Receiver] on usb-0000:00:14.0-10/input2 [ 4.966283] input: Logitech Unifying Device. Wireless PID:4024] on usb-0000:00:14.0-10:1 It seems to me that the Logitech driver does not detect the unifying device or the keyboard correctly in 3.19, as it does in 3.13. This is not the first time this happens, there's a patch that has been applied and reverted several times, now it seems someone messed up AGAIN somewhere between 3.13 and 3.19.
