Upstream patch at http://www.squid- cache.org/Versions/v4/changesets/squid-4-14311.patch should apply fairly easily to all Squid versions.

Removing arpa and netinet header inclusions also lead to eventual build failures due to missing symbols. So far I have found no way to have squid linking solely to either the kernel or libc without disabling netfilter altogether.
