Thanks for the reply. I have unfortunately gotten rid of Ubuntu to try Linux Mint that has the same problem.
Mint being based on Ubuntu, would the logs from Mint be any helpful? Otherwise I'm afraid I cannot supply any logs. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1460088 Title: Backlight control does not work on Asus Zenbook Pro UX501JW / Nvidia Geforce GTX 960M Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Hello! Backlight control does not work on Asus Zenbook Pro UX501JW / Nvidia Geforce GTX 960M. What I mean by this is that the hotkeys for the backlight does not do anything. The backlight can be manually set while running on the integrated intel graphics. (Not with hotkeys). The nvidia GPU is not detected until Nvidias official drivers are installed. And after installing that driver (any version) the backlight can not be changed at all. I hope this can be solved!
