bug 1431650 fixed multipath-tools (0.4.9-3ubuntu11), can you re-test with the
latest version of that package and see if this is still an issue.

multipath -ll command not showing proper boot disk .
i have assigned 60G ds8k SAN disk and rest IO Disk of sizes 20G and 10G from
ds8k and XIV.
lsblk and lsscsi -s shows proper boot disk name ( sdq )
but multipath -ll shows wrong result and also shows wrong size (
showing 20G )
please have a look into it .

There is a real issue in this bugzilla, and its related to the boot
device.
The reason the boot disk is not showing up in the multipath output is
because the system is booting off a single path rather than the
multipath device:

It looks like grub.cfg is mounting the root device by UUID. /etc/fstab
is saying the root device should be /dev/mapper/mpath0p2. So it would
appear there may be a boot time init script issue here. I'm thinking
what might be happening here is that the boot process is not waiting
for the multipath device to proceed with boot and simply mounting by
UUID before the multipath device gets created, which results in us
grabbing a single path rather than the multipath device.
This should probably get mirrored to Canonical for them to have a
look... I'm thinking that their scripts/local file in the initrd may
need some changes to better handle this. You could probably change the
root= parameter in grub to point to /dev/mapper/mpath0p2 and that may
work around the issue.
