I can also connect to a linksys router I have acting as an access point, but when going to this new hostapd access point, these two setups do not agree. I have also tried with Ubuntu 14.10/3.16 kernel, and to test a newer kernel version, Fedora 21 with 3.17+. Same thing happens. Seems to be specific to iwlwifi and Linux. $ cat version.log Ubuntu 3.13.0-43.72-generic 3.13.11.11 ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 14.04 Package: linux-image-generic 3.13.0.44.51 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.13.0-43.72-generic 3.13.11.11 Uname: Linux 3.13.0-43-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.14.1-0ubuntu3.6 Architecture: amd64 AudioDevicesInUse: USER PID ACCESS COMMAND /dev/snd/controlC0: phunyguy 2360 F.... pulseaudio CurrentDesktop: Unity Date: Sat Jan 17 01:01:34 2015 HibernationDevice: RESUME=UUID=99857fbe-4eca-41d2-9a61-186e910d5e63 InstallationDate: Installed on 2014-12-28 (19 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS "Trusty Tahr" - Release amd64 (20140722.2) MachineType: LENOVO 23539LU ProcFB: 0 inteldrmfb ProcKernelCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-3.13.0-43-generic root=UUID=d91c8d08-c512-4dc9-a88e-e8b1b71b839e ro quiet splash vt.handoff=7 RelatedPackageVersions: linux-restricted-modules-3.13.0-43-generic N/A linux-backports-modules-3.13.0-43-generic N/A linux-firmware 1.127.11 SourcePackage: linux UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) dmi.bios.date: 04/30/2013 dmi.bios.vendor: LENOVO dmi.bios.version: G7ET94WW (2.54 ) dmi.board.asset.tag: Not Available dmi.board.name: 23539LU dmi.board.vendor: LENOVO dmi.board.version: Win8 Pro DPK TPG dmi.chassis.asset.tag: No Asset Information dmi.chassis.type: 10 dmi.chassis.vendor: LENOVO dmi.chassis.version: Not Available dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnLENOVO:bvrG7ET94WW(2.54):bd04/30/2013:svnLENOVO:pn23539LU:pvrThinkPadT430s:rvnLENOVO:rn23539LU:rvrWin8ProDPKTPG:cvnLENOVO:ct10:cvrNotAvailable: dmi.product.name: 23539LU dmi.product.version: ThinkPad T430s dmi.sys.vendor: LENOVO To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1411909/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages Post to : kernel-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
