Seth is correct, when a message is sent across a unix based file socket their is a cross check (one check for the sender, and another for the receiver). In this case the receiving end of the message (rsyslogd) does not have the correct permission (r perm).
The reason this is reported with the pid and comm of other processes is that the check (for both sender and receiver) is done in the kernel context of the sending process. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux-lts-utopic in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1425398 Title: Apparmor uses rsyslogd profile for different processes - utopic HWE Status in apparmor package in Ubuntu: New Status in linux-lts-utopic package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Hi.
