Sabin Iacob, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. As per http://www.asus.com/Notebooks_Ultrabooks/ASUS_ZENBOOK_UX302LG/HelpDesk_Download/ an update to your computer's buggy and outdated BIOS is available (210). If you update to this following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BIOSUpdate does it change anything?
If it doesn't, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of the following terminal command: sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date For more on BIOS updates and linux, please see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette . Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful. As well, you don't have to create a new bug report. Once the BIOS is updated, and the information above is provided, then please mark this report Status Confirmed. Thank you for your understanding. ** Tags added: bios-outdated-210 ** Package changed: xorg (Ubuntu) => linux (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Low ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1402401 Title: Xorg freeze when switching to text console and back Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Sometimes the computer becomes unresponsive after switching to a text console and back; this seems to be an Xorg and / or kernel driver crash (there is a backtrace in dmesg that seems to be from Intel drivers). The rest of the system worked fine, I could SSH into it and restart Xorg. I had an (html5) Youtube video playing in Firefox when the lockup happened, I'll try to see if that was the culprit (I switched a few times to text console and back after restarting X and all was fine, but I didn't have a video running) ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 14.10 Package: xorg 1:7.7+7ubuntu2 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.16.0-28.37-generic 3.16.7-ckt1 Uname: Linux 3.16.0-28-generic x86_64 .tmp.unity.support.test.0: ApportVersion: 2.14.7-0ubuntu8 Architecture: amd64 BootLog: * Setting up X socket directories...
