Dear Christopher, I'm sorry to tell you that I changed my laptop since then and that my new hardware had never had any problem with Ubuntu, so I'm afraid to say I cannot help you more with this concern.

It seems to happen while the laptop is in cpu heavy load (when running Déjà Dup for example but not only, can be a lot of program running at the same time) though I'm not completely sure (kind of random). It seems to happen by bursts as well: for 30 minutes, it would crash every five minutes and then be stable for hours, though this pattern can just be an artefact of my use of the laptop (e.g. the system may be more prone to freeze when I start a lot of applications at the same time as when the laptop restarts for instance). Anyway, the bug tends to make my system very unstable as I need to make heavy computations relatively often. Also, the bug is quite recent (not sure it happened before the update to the kernel 3.2.0-27) made on the 24th of July on my laptop. Moreover it may be even younger as I succesfully made a Déjà Dup backup on the 27th of July (that is not possible anymore). Is there any workaround yet ? Good luck with it, Thank you Ludovic Part of the syslog content: Aug 3 11:03:06 dhclient: last message repeated 3 times Aug 3 11:03:06 ludovic1558 avahi-daemon[1118]: Invalid response packet from host fe80::3ed0:f8ff:fe4e:307e.
