With a different mouse, everything works fine. It could be just the particular mouse, but I am confused why it would work for some time and then cut out. Maybe driver has issue with just particular mouse model I am using or the actual mouse is faulty. I am okay with bug being closed.

After about 5 to 15 minutes of usage the mouse completely becomes unresponsive. Unplugging the mouse and then plugging it in resolves the problem, but not always. I have seen this exact issue reported in forums for other mouse brands, but nothing has been resolved, so I am filing a new bug. I see the following errors in the log: Apr 22 19:58:57 wormhole kernel: [ 8045.259316] input: HID 04b4:0033 as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1d.0/usb2/2-1/2-1.1/2-1.1:1.0/input/input13 Apr 22 19:58:57 wormhole kernel: [ 8045.259455] generic-usb 0003:04B4:0033.0002: input,hidraw0: USB HID v1.00 Mouse [HID 04b4:0033] on usb-0000:00:1d.0-1.1/input0 Apr 22 20:11:47 wormhole kernel: [ 8813.644261] usb 2-1.1: reset low-speed USB device number 8 using ehci_hcd Apr 22 20:11:48 wormhole kernel: [ 8814.715253] generic-usb 0003:04B4:0033.0002: can't reset device, 0000:00:1d.0-1.1/input0, status -32 Apr 22 20:11:51 wormhole kernel: [ 8817.709993] generic-usb 0003:04B4:0033.0002: can't reset device, 0000:00:1d.0-1.1/input0, status -32 Apr 22 20:11:54 wormhole kernel: [ 8820.792558] generic-usb 0003:04B4:0033.0002: can't reset device, 0000:00:1d.0-1.1/input0, status -32 Apr 22 20:11:55 wormhole kernel: [ 8821.623392] generic-usb 0003:04B4:0033.0002: can't reset device, 0000:00:1d.0-1.1/input0, status -32 Apr 22 20:11:56 wormhole kernel: [ 8822.592828] usb 2-1.1: reset low-speed USB device number 8 using ehci_hcd Apr 22 20:11:56 wormhole kernel: [ 8822.852381] usb 2-1.1: device descriptor read/64, error -32 Apr 22 20:11:57 wormhole kernel: [ 8823.215620] usb 2-1.1: device descriptor read/64, error -32 Apr 22 20:11:57 wormhole kernel: [ 8823.579146] usb 2-1.1: reset low-speed USB device number 8 using ehci_hcd Apr 22 20:11:57 wormhole kernel: [ 8823.838735] usb 2-1.1: device descriptor read/64, error -32 Apr 22 20:11:58 wormhole kernel: [ 8824.201927] usb 2-1.1: device descriptor read/64, error -32 Apr 22 20:11:58 wormhole kernel: [ 8824.565438] usb 2-1.1: reset low-speed USB device number 8 using ehci_hcd Apr 22 20:12:07 wormhole kernel: [ 8833.854914] usb 2-1.1: USB disconnect, device number 8 Apr 22 20:12:08 wormhole kernel: [ 8834.152805] usb 2-1.1: new low-speed USB device number 9 using ehci_hcd Apr 22 20:12:08 wormhole kernel: [ 8834.224656] usb 2-1.1: device descriptor read/64, error -32 Apr 22 20:12:08 wormhole kernel: [ 8834.400452] usb 2-1.1: device descriptor read/64, error -32 Apr 22 20:12:08 wormhole kernel: [ 8834.576194] usb 2-1.1: new low-speed USB device number 10 using ehci_hcd Apr 22 20:12:08 wormhole kernel: [ 8834.647978] usb 2-1.1: device descriptor read/64, error -32 Apr 22 20:12:08 wormhole kernel: [ 8834.823662] usb 2-1.1: device descriptor read/64, error -32 Apr 22 20:12:09 wormhole kernel: [ 8834.999397] usb 2-1.1: new low-speed USB device number 11 using ehci_hcd Apr 22 20:12:09 wormhole kernel: [ 8835.406468] usb 2-1.1: device not accepting address 11, error -32 Apr 22 20:12:09 wormhole kernel: [ 8835.478621] usb 2-1.1: new low-speed USB device number 12 using ehci_hcd Apr 22 20:12:09 wormhole kernel: [ 8835.885652] usb 2-1.1: device not accepting address 12, error -32 Apr 22 20:12:09 wormhole kernel: [ 8835.885952] hub 2-1:1.0: unable to enumerate USB device on port 1 ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04 Package: linux-image-3.2.0-40-generic-pae 3.2.0-40.64 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.2.0-40.64-generic-pae 3.2.40 Uname: Linux 3.2.0-40-generic-pae i686 AlsaVersion: Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.24.
