Thanks for your prompt advices, Christopher. Sorry about the attachment spam. My attachments from Dell Optiplex 960 are not valid for this Zenbook issue so I hid them (though I updated Dell's BIOS as you suggested). I tried to reproduce bug #989443 with Ubuntu 13.04 (and succeeded partly), and didn't understood that it would flood this issue. I'll direct my gathered information to the right bug.

It works nicely with console and LightDM login screen, but when I log in to Ubuntu/Ubuntu2D, screens (external and internal) go blank. Restarting LightDM usually works (works as in "you'll see the LightDM login screen again), but sometimes this hangs the whole system. Things you need to know: 1) lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Release: 12.04 2) apt-cache policy linux-image-3.2.0-24-generic linux-image-3.2.0-24-generic: Installed: 3.2.0-24.37 Candidate: 3.2.0-24.37 Version table: *** 3.2.0-24.37 0 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ precise-updates/main amd64 Packages 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ precise-proposed/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 3) I expect that X doesn't crash and I see output on both (or at least one) displays. 4) X crashes, both screens turn black. Sometimes external monitor turns red. Console usually works after the problem. LightDM has to be restarted.
