Hi Thamara, 0.9.10 doesn't sound like a official Kdenlive version or at least a very, very old one. Please try to use offical version from https://kdenlive.org/en/download/[1]
If Kdenlive still crashes please consider to open a bug report on https://bugs.kde.org/[2] Btw: Sometimes the Kdenlive version in the package manager is different from Kdenlives official version number so please use always the version in menu "About" > "About Kdenlive" I hope my explanations will help to solve the problem!
