when you zoom out, the handles are soon out of reach. I still think than a second handle rectangle at mid place from the center would be very nice (and may be not too difficult to code), but I found the monitor zoom feature. If the (small) image goes through the list you will see:
one have to find on the right of monitor commands a small icon for an other menu for zooming tools. Then one can zoom in the monitor and have the handles at hand :-)
