Mencoder should work if you had libdv (and -devel if using packages) installed when you built it. transcode will probably work as well, but I have less experience with it. > what about using kino? However, Charlie Yates, my partner on Kino, has made ffmpeg2raw as an utility in smilutils (derived from Kino) to smooth over some trouble spots with some sources. Only the newest version of Kino with the unreleased KinoPlus package and smilutils (for ffmpeg2raw) will give you the ability to import from anything to DV within Kino, but it can be done now if you can build it all!
