Which new VEML do you mean? Kdenlive 0.2.x will only use the previous VEML; it won't support the new <seq><par> stuff. Kdenlive 0.3.x will use the new VEML. It already supports it to a point where you can run Kdenlive 0.3 and the piave-0.3-pre tarball together. Neither Kdenlive 0.2.x or 0.3.x currently supports the capture VEML at the moment.
