Your colour choices are cached in ~/.config/kdeglobals (right at the top in mine). If you have a different account where colours are to your liking/specification than you could compare the 2 files in something like xxdiff to see if anything relevant pops out. (I looked in mine but didn't see any entries that explicitly says it's the menu background.) R
