The question is, what do you call a piece of software that's "exemplary" for part of the user population, and a RPITA for others? We have no way of knowing the demographics so we probably have to assume a more or less 50/50 distribution (which possibly lots of in-between cases where the glass is either half full or half empty). Frankly I agree that this is not a good impression for a piece of software that should accomplish a few simple tasks without tripping over itself, and I'd find it hard to call it viable if this were commercial software. In fact, I just realise that much of what I read and my own experience make me think of Microsoft products from a certain era... R
