Here's the notes from the call today about KDE Windows. - State of the CI, invent.kde.org - Ben is working on the docker image for windows and seeing how to integrate with GitLab/invent - We might need more builders, hardware - TODO Hannah will see if we can get more hardware - TODO we need someone to help on the CI, maybe using docker directly - Adoption of the different apps - there's several applications on the windows store - KDE Connect (Beta) crashes a lot - Kate & Okular seem fine - some applicatiosn are just linking to the binary-factory.kde.org, which is not something to work in the longer run - we could get apps somewhat easily on the windows store - common problems - which style? breeze? - installer size should be optimised sometimes - Icons! - autotools dependencies are no fun - static builds FTW? - Qt Patch Collection isn't tested for Windows - Make a living position for apps - Helping CI/CD, Ask Ben - QA - Relay Feedback - Training Maintainers about what we need on the Microsoft Store (existing training may be available) - centralising metadata information - Documentation for devs - Whatever we left TBD in the Akademy meeting - Gone through it - ARM builds - do we need binaries there? - what's the marketshare for microsoft windows? nobody knows
