-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I never got Kontact running satisfactorily on this laptop (Windows 7) so I decided to remove it and re-install it. Now I can't get any of it to run at all. I have created the accounts in Akonadi Personal Information Manager. The IMAP account, for instance, said for a long time that it had made a connection to my googlemail account, but then it said "Retrieving folders (0%)" and has been like that all night. Similarly I can't get either contacts or calendar to work.
On poking around, I see that there are a bunch of pim-related akonadi files that still bear the day May 2013, so clearly removing the pim application didn't remove them, and I suspect they could be at least part of the problem. I would re-name them, but am not absolutely sure which ones I need to rename, nor how easy it is to get them re-created. There appears to be around 40 candidates. What's the best way of cleaning out and getting a clean Kontact install? To be honest, much as I'd love to get Kontact working properly, I'd settle for the moment if I could get KAddressBook working with std.vcf - - that's the most urgent bit. There is information there that I don't have anywhere else.
