Replying to myself, I'd like to note that it seems I have been able to overcome the problem that bothered me from the other end: https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=27291#c11 Namely, I fixed the behaviour of KDE frameworks-based apps on X11 by unapplying a merge request that changed them ("27291 – [KDE Frameworks 5.74] New instance of QWidgets-based KDE apps (only on X11) starts in the last known position and size, overlapping the existing instance").
