Look around a bit more, desktop effects is a different control panel applet than I was referring to, and while the lack of OpenGL support on your system does disable most desktop effects, and with them the animation option I mentioned, it obviously doesn't disable the popup you're trying to be rid of, or it wouldn't be there to get rid of! So look around, the applet I mentioned won't be where I said due to the age of your system, but it should be there, and IIRC, it contained the option to disable that popup even back then. You just have to find the right applet. Another way to go about it would be to try this. Open a konsole commandline window and type into it: kcmshell4 --list That should output a whole list of the available kde control panel modules. With a bit of luck, the "desktop" module will be on that list. Assuming it is, try this: kcmshell4 desktop Here, that gets me the two tabs as described in my original reply, desktop (the default) and switching. If it gets you the same thing, as I said, the options you're looking for /should/ be on the switching tab. That is of course hoping that they simply changed the control panel applet order order in kde system settings, and that the settings are on that panel in or old version as in mine, even if the panel itself is in a different place in kde system settings. -- Duncan - List replies preferred.
