I have no such issues on this box. I generally have -two- KDE sessions logged in at the same time.. on :0 and :1 respectively.. and even with both of them logged in, cpu usage stays pretty low.. My power was fluctuating badly yesterday, so I powered down everything.. I've been back up for about 18hrs now, and the following "top -PCa" output is pretty much what I always have, unless my daughter is playing her nickjr.com games (which use flash... then CPU usage will climb because of nspluginplayer/flash) CPU 0: 0.7% user, 0.0% nice, 0.7% system, 0.0% interrupt, 98.7% idle CPU 1: 0.7% user, 0.0% nice, 0.7% system, 0.0% interrupt, 98.7% idle Mem: 983M Active, 340M Inact, 6151M Wired, 21M Cache, 391M Free ARC: 5125M Total, 3654M MRU, 500M MFU, 1317K Anon, 53M Header, 916M Other Swap: 2048M Total, 480K Used, 2047M Free Plus.. ps aux | grep X produces: root 1895 0.4 0.6 971676 50072 ??
