Hello. I've seen the similar problem on the recent 9-STABLE with i915 (no KMS). KDE starts, draws the panel, and then system suddenly reboots (no usual shutdown sequence - just reset). This behavior was seen right after recent QT and giflib updates. I'm usually starting KDE over SSH with the monitor powered off - no problems so far.
