I have just rebuild all my packages (that is: "pkg_delete -a", remove everything but /usr/local/etc/ from /usr/local/, rebuild all port origins via "make install clean", create packages, transfer them to other machines, and do the same procedure there but with packages). When Amarok was working, I had a set of packages from the ports tree as of 2011-Feb-21 (before the xorg and openldap updates), now I have a current one. The kde and amarok versions are the same.
Since the update, I cannot start amarok anymore. It briefly shows the load screen and then exits printing to the terminal: amarok(2673)/kdeui (KIconLoader) KSharedDataCache::Private::mapSharedMemory: Failed to establish shared memory mapping, will fallback to private memory -- memory usage will increase mysql_embedded: Table 'mysql.plugin' doesn't exist 110318 14:46:13 InnoDB: The InnoDB memory heap is disabled 110318 14:46:13 InnoDB: Mutexes and rw_locks use GCC atomic builtins 110318 14:46:13 InnoDB: Compressed tables use zlib 1.2.3 110318 14:46:13 InnoDB: Initializing buffer pool, size = 128.0M 110318 14:46:13 InnoDB: Completed initialization of buffer pool 110318 14:46:13 InnoDB: Operating system error number 13 in a file operation. InnoDB: The error means mysqld does not have the access rights to InnoDB: the directory. InnoDB: File name /var/db/mysql/ibdata1 InnoDB: File operation call: 'create'. InnoDB: Cannot continue operation. Nothing has really changed in my configuration. What could be wrong? I assume mysql tries to start as the current user. Why would it try to access /var/db/mysql/ owned by mysql:mysql? Looking for mysqld processes, I see that there are two running with akonadi configs. It seems that only amarok has problems with mysql. I have tried temporarily moving ~/.kde4/share/apps/amarok and ~/.kde4/share/config/amarok* in case the amarok configuration is broken after all, but it did not change anything. Yesterday, I rebuild amarok again (after the libofa and taglib updates), but that did not change anything, either.
