I recently ran across an old KDE1 installation in the work lab of my old
employer. This was a 266Mhz P1. It was sooooo much faster than KDE4/Qt4! (Of
course, the Win95 on the other partition made Vista look like cold molasses).

Ten years from now we'll have 32-way multicore 6Ghz processors with 64G RAM,
but KDE9's feature set will be such that we can still go grab a cup of coffee
while kontact is loading...

:-)
