In the extreme case, we could move both qt3 and kde3 into their own prefixes (/usr/local/qt3, /usr/local/kde3) and then do the same thing with KDE4. I am not sure however that this option is really open to us, because it violates hier(7) in a rather gross fashion. Maybe mcl@ could tentatively poll portmgr@ about this.
