Hi,

at http://kde.org/info/kde-frameworks-5.0.0.php many tarballs are
around 2.6 MB in size, some of them only around 100 KB or less.

Downloading and extracting kwindowsystem-5.0.0.tar.xz reveals:

        pepo@duo:~/kwindowsystem-5.0.0> du -sc *
        204 autotests
        4 CMakeLists.txt
        28 COPYING.LIB
        24 docs
        4 KF5WindowSystemConfig.cmake.in
        4 metainfo.yaml
        25416 po
        4 README.md
        792 src
        28 tests
        26508 total

95% of the archive contains translations, of which kwindowsystem does
only use a single string, all others are "old" kdelibs4 strings.

If someone (e.g. a distribution packager) downloads all archives, he
will waste 10x more space/time compared to the kdelibs4 archive. Not
exactly the message we wanted to spread with the splitting efforts :)

Is there a way to detect and strip unused strings in the release
tarballs?
