There is a group of people who does care for Mingw (and not for msvc) - we also from time to time chip in on other windows issues for things that are shared between msvc and mingw. Our Patron, g10code, ships a collection of frameworks and a few applications everything built with mingw. There are some KDE developers on the team. Including me. /Sune
