You could do windows and mac osx releases from a non-master branch and KF5 releases in master for linux if you wanted, no? This in case the KF5 version is quality-ready (which i do not know if is or not). Just had a look at the code and I have the impressiong that having two clean separate codebases would personally make me happier than all those #if QT_VERSION you have around? > That means also further release branches will be KDE4 based for unknown > time, but also no KF5 based releases for unknown time. Having master based in kdelibs4 is fine (we'll need to have the talk when to stop supporting that, but that's a different story). What is not a good idea is having a master where kdelibs4 and KF5 can be built from, that is bound to break at some point and cause issues with various of the toolings we have.
