Dolphin 2 is a rewrite of the underlying icon view code in order to drastrically improve performance and fix a number of visual bugs and limitations. However, this means rewriting a lot of code, so it will take time for all the features to be re-implemented. All the old features will be back, they just aren't yet. This is the problem with using the unstable version of KDE, you get unstable and unfinished code.
