mmm. I have no idea what you are talking about. 
As far as I know oxygen-Qt theme does not use any socket.
It does use dbus for keeping configuration in sync, but I think it is 
irrelevant. 

Or can you point me/us to the piece of code that supposidly use sockets ? 

Could it be that the crashes you report are due to swapping (using hdd for 
ram) ?
