Bug ID: 496504 Summary: System setting dialog hard to use. Classification: Applications Product: systemsettings Version: 6.2.3 Platform: Fedora RPMs OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: lst_man...@webengineer.com Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 175978 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=175978&action=edit screenshot ot system setting on my system. SUMMARY I have a have a large high res monitor, and so I set the system font size to 22. The system settings dialog has up to three panels. One has a list of sections to edit and is too narrow to make out many of the items in the list, and worse, there is no way to expand the panel. When selecting most item is the left panel another panel opens to the right if the list. It is als a fixed width and so most item in that new list are truncated and so hard ro make out. There is no way to expand that panel either. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open System Settings 2. Note virtually all items listed in the left panel are truncated and there is no way to expand the panel horizontally. 3. Note when selecting most item, ex. Accessibility, most item is the new panel are truncated and there is no way to expan the panel horizontally OBSERVED RESULT No way to expand panels to allow viewing list without truncated item in list. EXPECTED RESULT I expect to be able to read items in either panel, ans os not have to guess or click on item to see what it does. I guess eventually I'll get used to it and remember what most items are for, but I don't believe KDE is interested in having poor UI issues. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Fedora Linux 41 KDE Plasma Version: 6.2.3 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.8.0 Qt Version: 6.8.0 Kernel Version: 6.11.7-300.fc41.x86_64 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: X11 Processors: 32 × AMD Ryzen 9 5950X 16-Core Processor Memory: 125.7 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: AMD Radeon RX 550 / 550 Series Screen resolution: 3840x2160 (32 inch) I believe I am on wayland as that is the default and I haven't change it. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I am not seeing anyway to set file associations globally, like thre used to be. I'll keep looking and report another bug, or missing feature request, if I don't find a way to do that. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
