Even in search dialog, and in search toolbar that is above the messages list. For example in search dialog I try to search in header for List-Id and set the criteria to include some string and it looks like the string is not used verbatim as a whole, it looks like it is broken into "words" from the search string (e.g. "some.mailing.list" is broken into "some", "mailing", "list") and then the search matches if any of the separate word is matched. And I have a feeling it is also not limited juts to List-Id header field but it searches entire message for a match.
