Bug ID: 495777 Summary: SFTP Reconnect after standby Classification: Applications Product: dolphin Version: 24.08.1 Platform: Kubuntu OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: dolphin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: ei...@eitchnet.ch CC: kfm-de...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY I was copying files many GBs of files from one SFTP connection to a different SFTP connection. Probably not the most efficient, but it was working. Sadly after leaving the computer it decided to go into standby after a few minutes, the next morning when i started, the copy dialog did not error our or anything, the dolphin views on the source and destination wouldn't reload and it something went wrong i should make a bug report. Only after closing all the Dolphin windows, could i then reconnect and try again. Sadly the experience is lacking here. It would be nice to reconnect, and retry the failed file. Further why does the computer go into standby? I am new to KDE and used to do this same workflow with Gnome and there the PC would only go into standby when the copying was complete. But since i only installed KDE on top of an Ubuntu installation, this might be a configuration issue of my system. Lastly, it would be nice if the protocol ssh:// would be supported as a synonym for sftp:// STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Connect to SFTP source and destination 2. Copy files 3. Go into standby 4. Start computer again 5. Broken connections which don't reconnect, copy dialog doesn't fail either OBSERVED RESULT EXPECTED RESULT Connection times out, and i can reconnect and retry the failed copy.
