Bug ID: 495651 Summary: discover icon visibility in system tray Classification: Applications Product: Discover Version: 6.1.5 Platform: Kubuntu OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Notifier Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: droid...@gmail.com CC: aleix...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 175415 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=175415&action=edit this shows how the settings SHOULD look but only appears this way when there are pending updates SUMMARY since updating to kubuntu 24.10 (and plasma 6) the discover icon is no longer displayed in the system tray, or in the systems tray settings window, unless there are pending updates. it is as if the visibility settings were set to "Shown when relevant" but some how that setting is also applied in the settings window. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. go to systems tray settings and look for Updates entry 2. wait for pending updates to become available for install 3. go back to systems tray settings and look for Updates entry OBSERVED RESULT at first the Updates entry is not listed on the settings page at all, but when updates are pending, then it will appear in the settings page with the expected control for "Always Shown / Disabled / Shown when relevant" EXPECTED RESULT Updates entry should always be listed in the settings window along with it's expected controls, and the controls should determine if the icon shows in the system tray or not.
